In #Pleiades poetry....

Only one word is allowed in the title followed by a single seven-line stanza. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title. Hortensia Anderson, a popular haiku and tanka poet, added her own requirement of restricting the line length to six syllables.

Background of the Pleiades: The Pleiades is a star cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is a cluster of stars identified by the ancients, mentioned by Homer in about 750 B.C and Hesiod in about 700 B.C. Six of the stars are readily visible to the naked eye; depending on visibility conditions between nine and twelve stars can be seen. Modern astronomers note that the cluster contains over 500 stars. The ancients named these stars the seven sisters: Alcyone, Asterope, Celaeno, Electra, Maia, Merope, and Tygeta; nearby are the clearly visible parents, Atlas and Pleione.

The poetic form The Pleiades is aptly named: the seven lines can be said to represent the seven sisters, and the six syllables represent the nearly invisible nature of one sister.

THE FRIEND OF GOD

 " THE FRIEND OF GOD "

Although ,

It's story very short 

Giving the message, 

That certainly means a lot .....

A child was selling flowers 

In a hot summer day , outside temple  

Barefooted in the afternoon , an exceptional example .

People were bargaining for saving little money 

A gentleman saw his feet having no footwear any 

That hurt him so much , he ran away, 

Took the boot from a nearby shop and said, 

"Son! Wear the boot." 

The boy put on the boot quickly, was very happy 

And held the man's hand and said - "You are God !"

The man panicked and said,

 "No..No. Son ! I am not God." 

Then the boy said .....

" Then it's sure .. !

"You will be 

The friend of God 

Because last night, 

I had prayed to God 

That Oh God, 

My feet burn a lot ,

Please give me the boot." 

The man went on smiling 

With wiping water in his eyes,

But he knew that it is not difficult 

To be a friend of God. 

Nature has made two paths 

Either you go by giving,

Or leave all your belongings and go 

There is no arrangement to go with you 

All these materialistic world and treasure 

You're indulge accumulating , whatever few .

The cycle of time scale 

Boards us on memory rail ,

A reminder of passed periods ,

The lucrative days of past 

How poisonous state was last !

Aimlessly ; now it's being realized very fast .

How selfish entire world is, a self centered 

Human nature looking upon only for their Glory.

Alas ! Existence Of This Evening May Not Be .

While walking with
The setting Sun
At crossing road
I used to come
On the four lanes
In the midst of city
Standing at 
With a sense of guilty
That comes in my mind...

These reducing counting of evenings ..
From my life
Are passing
Just by and by
One after another
Reminding me daily
Only, thought one ...

After a hard working day of 12 hours
Sweating of this burning Sun
Repeatedly,
Without missing
This evening comes
And why am I following her
Knows by none ......

Carrying some
So precious gems
Of my life's dreams,
In the middle of City Chowk
Without failing, I used to come
Forgetting existence mine
I used to loss myself
Completely,
For hours after hours
In the allure of glittering shine 
Of half blooming flowers
Mesmerized with their fragrances ....

Wandering eyes
In search of
Unknown goal, with shy
Daily , without missing a day
I used to cry
Swinging, this or that side
In a self woven
Spider web's of mine
And in expectations of
Getting a freedom sublime
Jolting sense of responsibilities
I used to get tangled more and more....

A sense of feeling
Always reminding ever
In my subconscious mind
That this precious time of life
Passing away... by and by
Like the flows of a river
That flowing towards
An unknown goal
And I'm performing
The similar role !

And....
Again with a promise of
Not repeating the similar deeds
Carrying thoughts in mind, indeed
A false vow, I often take and return back
Usually to my home ......

But.....
Again
Next day
Following that
Unforgettable path
Usually, I come out on my walk
Following that lucrative glimpse of evening
Wrapped up the same stale thoughts
Inviting me to come along ...
And
Although
Willingly not so curious
But ...
Out of my home , I take my steps
Once again, I'm tangling in the same webs ...

What is an *“#Elfchen”* ?

*“Elfchen”* is German and literally means “wee eleven”. “Elf” means eleven and the ending “-chen” behind a name or noun gives it a sense of being wee and endearing. An *“Elfchen”* is basically a short poem consisting of exactly 11 words in a specific format of words per line. 

 The rules to write an *#Elfchen* are:

*1st line , 1 word- A thought, an object, a colour, a smell or the like*

*2nd line, 2 words- Describing what the word from the first row does or mean.*

*3rd line, 3 words -Where or how is the word of row 1?*

*4th line, 4words -What do you mean?*

*5th line, 1 word-Conclusion, ....What results from all this? .....What is the outcome?*

Note : A *#Ninette* is a type of poem which contains nine lines, each line with a difference of one syllable from the previous one. The syllables increase with one number, from the first line until the midpoint where they start decreasing.

The syllable count of a Ninette is one, two, three, four, five, four, three, two and then back to one. The first and the last line of this type of poem do not have to be necessarily the same. They can either be synonyms or antonyms. If you form a Ninette and then center it, you will get a paper lantern-like design. A Ninette is entirely different from a Rictameter in terms of syllable count and the structure.

Staying at your home, enjoy fest
No outgoing at all just eat the zest ,
Let your dear one be alongside chest
Fortunately you've got opportunity best .

First time in global history, I can bet
You've seen this research of biotech ,
An attach of Corona disturbed, life set
Human stupidity thrown us in the mess.

The whole world been given a life saving test
Save your world, don't be trapped in viral web ,
Listen ! with family members stay in your nest
Guys ! It's not only mine, entire world's request.

PUBLIC CURFEW

*PUBLIC CURFEW*

(Sunday, 22nd, March, 2020, On a call of Indian P.M.)

It's all over the place, 
Just people in their residential place. 
Everyone remains in his house, 
Waking up late and being proud of it all ...
Being locked indoors for good, 
Fighting against an evil called *" Corona Virus ".* 

Lazy people make laziness relax
Dear people are busy to get relax,
Everyone is busy in updating ......
Themselves with news on time,
Women doing enthusiastically
Their own domestic work prime .
 
Glad to see people remain in one place,
Pleased to have the opportunity to spend ....
A quality time with loved one at their residential place.
Men are watching news, women busy in making snacks and cookies. 
Children playing in their rooms packed .........
Enjoying holidays in between their exams. Relaxed.

All are living happily, United at their Happy Homes,
Making their home a playground, news studio and gaming zone. 
Aged people chanting innumerable Bhagavad Gita's mantras,
Villagers engaged in making sweets and teaching, The importance of "Public Curfew"  in Jan tanra .
Morning was lazy & It was too late in the afternoon.
Then evening fell,  It was 5 o'clock, time arrived soon.

People ready with their myriad musical instruments, 
Different people have their own different musical instruments, 
Some with bells,  Some people carried their own instruments with tenseness. 
With all the happy mood,  In the mood to make aware and aware.
Everyone beat their utensils, screaming in joy
All were fighting and saying ... *" Go Corona Go ".*

Apart from India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup,
All Indians were together because of this good work.
Be it celebrity or be it beggar,  all combined to make a move ,
Those five minutes were terrible, "A wow" , in happy mood.
But the exited Indians have continued this till 5:30 pm, 
Then the day was over,  And the night twisted it.
The day ended beautifully,  without any mess
We all made "The public curfew"  a grand success.

The old saying is
 *"Rome was not built in a day"*,
But now a new one has arrived.
*'But it collapsed in a week ", ...* 
 
So brother ! made progress, won the country ?
Made industrial revolution, earned Petro-dollars, Made multinational corporation ?
Made jihad, became super power or
Still there is anything left?

 A micro parasite brought you to your knees? Neither atom bomb nor Petro refinery is working?
Your whole development is not able to cope with a micro organism (Virus) ??

What happened, the heck got out ?
What did you earn in all these years ? ?
Of a small creature imprisoned in homes ? ? ?

In the Middle Ages,
Rome (Italy), which ruled all of Europe
Came to the brink of destruction,
The Osmania Empire (Iran, Turkey),
Which had weakened the Middle East by its footsteps,
Now suffocated........
Whose empire the sun never set. ,
The successor of that British Empire is imprisoned in Birmingham Palace .

Those who considered themselves
To be the greatest powers of the modern era,
Are the border seals of Russia,
At whose pointing the map of the world is changed,
The undeclared Chaudhary (leader) of the whole world,
America is locked down a
And in the future who wanted to swallow everyone, That China, today, is hiding its face and facing the curse, everyone's abuses !

And ................

All these prodigious countries are looking at with hopeful eyes ,
Towards our 68 year old hero,
Towards the India that has been insulted, mourned, looted for centuries !
And All these have done by such a small creature which does not even appear,
Means... that a small organism has told you your location,
Has shown you all your position.
Let me tell you, this *Corona* is not the end,
It's beginning of a new war,
A war in which you are likely to be defeated!

"As global warming increases, glaciers ice will melt,
 And there will be free " The donated monstrous Viruses like challenges .... "
Wrapped in the ice sheets for millions of years
Which you are neither familiar with nor ready to fight,
This *Corona* is a tableau, warning that it will come.
Of the calamity that you have given birth "!

 *Manchester's Industrial Revolution and Harvard's Economics brought the world to the end. Congratulations ...*
